Machete!!! (NOT the Movie)
"Machete" may have been a 2010 "B" film, but the real-life Machetes I am posting here are grade "A" examples of one of mankind's greatest "other sharp object" inventions ever conceived!

Here is a batch that I am about to put together into a big 'ol tub of vinegar in order to force the rust off.

A Collins WWII Machete 1942 issue. I just had a new edge put on it. Now it is razor sharp

Re: Machete!!! (NOT the Movie)
Cool, love the Machete's. I was at a farm auction a couple years ago and found a Collins Legitmus with a wooden handle. The "Crows Beak" don't know the proper name, was cracked off and lost? I think it was on here, I was told it was WWII vintage. Then at another farm auction I found another Collins. It was in a cheesy sheath and the Collins logo looked like it was laser etched on. The sheath had leather tassels with plastic beads, and I think it said made in Mexico. I know Collins had plants in Mexico? This one looked like a cheap tourist trap trinket. I tried whacking some Autumn Olive trees with it to scar the barks to spray with Garlon 4 Ultra. The blade wobbled like Chuck Conners saber on the reruns of Branded. I'm more into Collins axes, so these two get to hang with the axes.

I know that Collins was making axes in Mexico, at least in the recent past.rarefish383 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 28, 2025 4:28 pm I think it said made in Mexico. I know Collins had plants in Mexico?
