CATTARAUGUS K.C.C KNIFE 1992 FH-3 JAPAN

The Cattaraugus Cutlery Company was started by John Champlin and his son Tint in 1882. It was first incorporated under the name J.B.F. Champlin and Son as a wholesale distribution company based in Little Valley, New York. The business proved to be a successful endeavor, and it soon branched into a knife production company named Cattaraugus.

CATTARAUGUS K.C.C KNIFE 1992 FH-3 JAPAN

Post by ScottShiraki »

Does anyone have information on this knife? I bought this off of the bay, since it had a couple of interesting features that I like, which are the trick knife style pen blade lock release and a Phillips head which I often find useful. All I see online is the obvious, that they were made in 1992 in Japan. I do see that maybe there were some with a more reddish bone and brown. Thanks in advance for any info!

I know there was also a stag version (I used to own both the red bone & stag), but I haven't seen any with other handles than those two. Knifeaddict1965 has both versions, maybe he can add some info. IIRC, the ones I had were stamped AG Russell. I believe he had them made for K.C.C.

Hey, if we can't all work together to enable each others' addictions, what good are we?

Happy to help, and glad to hear you found the Stag you were looking for. ::tu:: Hope you'll post some pictures when you get it.
FYI... If you love this pattern as much as I do, you may be interested to know that they are also made with the Weidmannsheil stamp. They are essentially the same Trick Lock Folding Hunter minus the phillips screwdriver attachment.

Ah yes, I’ve seen the Weidmannsheil version, very nice. I have a lot of their leverlock autos and love them.

Loving both of these. The red bone was purchased for only $50 or so, but had some minor issues that I corrected.
