Cool knife, TWKG!
Great pics and knives, Q! That Stag is awesome.
As for reflections, guys, it’s darn near impossible to avoid them with outdoor photography if the blades are mirror polished - even in the shade on a low light day. Personally, I don’t mind them, though. However, sometimes I’m just not satisfied with what I’ve got outside and will bring the knife inside. I have a light box, but I don’t use it very often. Not my favorite way to take a pic. I get light for photos just as good on a bed next to an upstairs window!

Mahalo, Tim & Garry
The “Hummingbird” acrylic handle on this GEC #13 sure changes appearance in different settings with different lighting. The last shot of the pile side really does resemble the iridescence of a hummingbird’s throat, IMO.

Re: Knife Photography
Great knife Q, and your photos really bring out the color. Like you said, those handles really have a lot of depth to them with their color and the way light plays off it. Not easy to capture in photos, but you did a nice job.

Repeat of a Sheffield all steel lockback. Sometimes it all comes together. Well used and scratched up but the lighting makes it happen.

I have an Elk Ridge knife with those same handles. Use it on my desk. They always look great.ThatWeirdKnifeGuy wrote: ↑Thu Oct 30, 2025 4:44 pm Doing what I can in the driver's seat picture studio.

The vast majority of my factory made (i.e., not custom or customized) ACSB knives have head bolsters.

I must have missed this post earlier in the week. Beautiful Bareheads from your legendary ACSB collection.

Re: Knife Photography
We took our walk early today so as not to cross paths with Trick-or Treaters. The woods on the wild side were suitably spooky with lots of wind and falling leaves. Billy was especially vigilant keeping a sharp eye peeled for ghosts, goblins, ghouls, and the occasional headless horseman. He jumped a doe who didn't hear us coming in the wind, he's fast but not that fast, she left him in her dust.

The ghosts on it used to glow in the dark but it has been washed too many times after being worn by three different dogs over the years. He does his predecessors proud.
