Going through some knives, l was struck by the variety of sizes, shapes, & blade types in a stockman pattern knife. From tiny to huge, round & square bolsters, spey, punch, or pen blades, regular or california clip master blade, three or four or more blades, and a bewildering array of handle materials.
Here are some different sizes. Background is the usual 1 inci squares.
How many sizes of stockman are there?

Very interesting. Sometimes I wished I decided on
a very specific type of pocket knife and collect
from there. Never too late I suppose.

Kinda looks like small, medium and large might be a good answer.

Nice group, Ray. When I first got into knife collecting, it was Stockmans and Trappers. I think Case has about 3 or 4 current production Stockman knives.
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

Re: How many sizes of stockman are there?
Most manufacturers made a range of sizes. The most common lengths (closed) in the post-WWII era have been 2-5/8 ", 2-3/4", 3-1/4", 3-3/8", 3-1/2", 3-5/8", 3-7/8", 4", and 4-1/4".
Western and Camillus also each made stockman patterns that were 3" closed. Occasionally very large sizes like the Case classics 6340 were made.
