This is my favorite big knife, it slices, it dices, it chops, and if need be doubles as a short sword. A Parker Edwards crown stag bowie bench made by Randall Gilbreath in J'ville ALA 1986. It has been on many camping trips, in hunting camp every season and in all that time it has only developed one small crack in the stag near the guard. She still looks good after years of use, some of it pretty hard use too.

SAS what an awesome Parker Edwards crown stag bowie*!!! Does it say made in Alabama? I have one similar to yours, however yours is blessed with a better looking (world class) stag handle A beautiful piece indeed .

I brought a knife in every pocket today on a fungus finding hike. Also the Dad knife on my belt, seen here with moss for Sasquach.

The picture with the orange berries isn't great, but does anyone know what the berries are? I've not seen them before.

Well CxIII, I used my Photo Improvement Specialty Softwear (P.I.S.S.) to take a closer look at your knife .... and yes... you were right the unmagnified photos do not show the mistakes.... I have brought them up to a higher resolution for the benefit of the AAPK membership to view....

Another good looking custom fixer, Tony....I'm not seeing any of those mistakes that T-Dog saw with his high-power, super magnifying X-ray vision, but I do love the tribal design the file left on the blade, different on each side...pretty cool

Yes the tang stamp says Alabama. It is also etched Bench Made by Randall Gilbreath and serialized #247. On the pile side the tang is stamped Made the USA 1986. I bought it new as a limited edition (I don't remember how many were made but 500 comes to mind) and there was also a Damascus version (which I couldn't afford). $189.99 was a lot to spend on a knife in 1986 but it was money well spent.

Sighted this extremely rare Mammoth Ivory billed Wharncliffe crested Swayback sapsucker perched in a tree while I was out and about this morning.

What do you expect from someone who grew up in the middle of a desert? In the future I'll refrain from fantasizing about your location and go back to dreaming of drinking a tequila sunrise in the shade of a saguaro.

Nice old bones, T-Dog.....I like wood as a background, too; the grain adds adds contour and bark adds texture to the pics
