I really like the geometry and proportions of your custom blade; I could envision multiple applications for a knife like that. (Please send it to me if for some reason your wife is not satisfied with it, you can make her another one )

I am very partial to red bone...

I really like the diamond crosshatch jigging on that Tidioute, T-Dog And the patina looks great with the red bone...so, I gotta ask....forced patina or natural? (looks exactly like mine after I give them a white vinegar treatment)


Found a good use for my unsharpened Schatt: a photo prop I hate carrying an unsharpened knife, but I figured I probably should get a few pics of it in its natural state before it gets forever altered and actually made useful with a sharp edge!

Cha-ching Q! You had it right, it was an "accidently-forced" patina... in as much as I soaked it in Evapo-Rust®(I think they use acid from citrus) to remove some light peppering and I left it in over 24 hours and Oops! It completely darkened the blade just like a heavy white vinegar treatment. After my initial shock ... I thought the blade looked pretty cool, almost with a gun bluing look to it.

She was peeling apples, making apple butter, when the inspiration hit me. She love it!

Japan made ... yes! I drew out a pattern similar to that profile, with a clip point. Gotta do some clip/swedge practice before attempting.

This is my favorite big knife, it slices, it dices, it chops, and if need be doubles as a short sword. A Parker Edwards crown stag bowie bench made by Randall Gilbreath in J'ville ALA 1986. It has been on many camping trips, in hunting camp every season and in all that time it has only developed one small crack in the stag near the guard. She still looks good after years of use, some of it pretty hard use too.

That's a beauty, Squach! Love the gnarly crown stag handle Still looks new despite all the mileage you've put on it. Nice photo...well-positioned to accentuate the lines and graceful upswept curve of the blade. Smooth chunk of driftwood makes a nice backdrop/knife stand


My Limited Edition Black Lip Pearl Lone Wolf Paul Executive accompanied me on my 'hood circuit this morning. Normally, the sunlight would bring out more colors in the pearl, but all the vog in the air being spewed out of Kilauea diffuses the light and diminishes the pearl's visible prism spectrum

Gee, Squach, I would think you of all people should know how hurtful it is to be reduced to a simplistic stereotype, a comical caricature, a mere meme And, BTW, you left out the hula dancers in grass skirts wearing flower leis at a luau. But, to answer your question, No, I was not drinking a piña colada with a little parasol stuck in it when I shot those....I was drinking a Mai Tai in a hollowed out pineapple with a little parasol stuck in it! (Seriously dude, I'm not some cartoonish Parrothead living in Margaritaville!)
