Not Your Standard Multi-Tool!

Post by deo-pa »

Forget screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers, and ferro rods. How about a knife, watch, pencil, and house key?

I spotted this early to mid 20th Century 14K gold "multi-tool" on Etsy for a mere $1,200. It's from famed NYC jeweler Verdura, with a George Wostenholm I*XL Sheffield blade no less. And if this one isn't fancy enough for you, then you can have the Cartier version (last photo), listed on another site for $12,000.

By the way, the story of the founding of Verdura is an interesting one, involving an Italian Duke and American songwriter Cole Porter. Read about it on the late Duke's Wikipedia page (Fulco di Verdura): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fulco_di_Verdura.

Interesting. I suppose it's for the guy or gal who has everything.
