Aloha! From the Rainbow State

Post by B4reB0nes »

Stopped in to show some “sharp” love to all my fellow knife enthusiasts, makers, historians and lovers. All the way from the middle of the ocean on the biggest island of Hawaii!
I’m not a true native of Hawaii, originally reign from Colorado, but lived on Big Island for 14yrs now. Stumbled into an AAPK forum while looking for any and all historical information about Western Cutlery. I became an avid collector of two specific types of Western knives about 8yrs ago, and although I am equally passionate of all types created circa 1950-1984, those two types I must admit are sentimentally my favorite. The Western Cutlery Boot knives, W77 was my very first knife, at the budding age of 7yrs old, and not ashamed to say that I stole during a festival in Walsenberge CO. Without my dad knowing or finding out until I was in my early teens, but during my late teens life happened and Karma caught up with me. Soon I found myself “Western-less”, and I no longer had “her” my beautiful doubled edge boot knife. Come decades later, with a random trip down memory lane and a quick gander at EBay, and there she was! After I reclaimed my beauty, the legitimate way, that’s when I began my hunt for the W77 and W75 collection. Thus, here I am! To enjoy, indulge, learn and also finish my collection while sharing and engaging with liked minded humans.

When I touch it, it gives forth a sound.
It’s got wires that vibrate and give music.
What can this thing be that I’ve found?”

Hey! I resemble that remark! You'd better be careful because here in "the islands" we routinely sacrifice sassy mainlanders to madam Pele :lol:

ALOHA and ::welcome:: B4reB0nes! 🤙🏽

It's nice to have another kama'aina on the forum again ::woot:: Looking forward to seeing some pictures of your knives ::nod::

Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!
