WHATZIT?

Post by Ridgegrass »

Can anybody ID this? Not mine, friend sent the pic. Looks blued or Parkerized. Can't tell if the scales are missing covers . Looks German? British?
Thanks. J.O'.

That knife never had any handles other than what's already there.

Here are a few others-

I don't know what the origin is. I've seen a lot of speculation from Japanese, to British, to German, etc.

Here's a youtube video about the knife, but it doesn't provide any answers, and the comments just offer more speculation- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VbWTJdh3i50

Fellas I asked Ridgegrass to post the original question for me. This is an interesting knife. I believe the blue is original on the blade. I have ano to escape knife which has has blue just like this one which was a US made escape with 3 saw blades, short long blade and pliers. So when I saw this it stood out to me. I saw it listed as a Japanese escape knife. Did the Japanese use blueing and what type of saw is this? Metal cutting or wood??

Interesting piece. Seems to be a lot of speculation to its origin.
Definitely a wood saw with the double teeth.

You saw it listed as a Japanese escape knife where? On eBay? ::shrug::
