I have an old Eickhoff knife/tool with initials NY.
Initials hard to read. Well made, heavy duty, tapered tang, 9" long, 3/16" at widest width, 7/8" tall. Rounded back, very straight edge but not sharp. Anybody have knowledge of its id? Use?
Thanks

He was located at 381 Broome St, NYC and served on the board of Education there. He was established in 1843 and advertised in a Teachers College Educational Monograph as late as 1890. I have a couple of his knives and a bowie

Thanks for the info.
Still not sure of the use of his tool.
Well made, heavy duty.
A mystery.
Thanks again
