My newest Queen

The Queen Cutlery Company manufactured knives in Titusville Pennsylvania for 96 years. The company opened its only factory there in 1919 and commenced to make some of the best US crafted cutlery you will find. Unfortunately, the Titusville manufacturing plant closed down in 2018.

I really love these little pre-DFC #9155 Mini Trappers from the 1990s. At 3 3/8" closed they're just a bit smaller than the 3½" #51 and they have a bear trap snap. This 1992 BB2 is my latest pick up. "BB" stands for "Burnt Bone" which to me has a nice warm autumn gold glow. As Treefarmer would say: And it's a Queen! :)

Yes Sir, Q, it's a Queen and a beauty at that! A little bit small but would make a great "Sunday go to meetin' " knife. ::tu::

Burnt bone wears well on that little mini trapper.

Attentive readers may recognize the handle of that Queen/Joe Pardue Hawk as being very similar to a Queen Schatt & Morgan "mystery model" that I posted four years ago in the "Who's into S&M?" thread (https://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/kn ... &start=425) and was also shown as my "factory Frankenknife" entry on a recent Wharncliffe Wednesday (https://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/kn ... &start=175)

Here are both knives together showing the similar handles and clearing up the mystery once and for all ::nod::

Really beautiful stag Q, ::nod:: ... just outstanding 👍👍🤤🤤🤤 ::drool:: I whish I had bought more Joe Pardues when I had the chance years ago. Queen had a run of his Cotton samplers in stag and I regret not getting 10 of them  .... ::facepalm:: ... I didn't realize how in later years I would grow to love stag as much as I do now... ::dang::

Mahalo T-Dog ::handshake:: Man, I totally hear ya about wishing I had bought more of a certain knife when I had the chance…..and the corollary regret of selling knives I wish I had kept. Been there, done that too many times to count ::doh:: ::dang:: ::facepalm::

Fortunately, enough others keep showing up to help me forget my shortsighted foolhardiness.

Like this single blade stag trapper ::super_happy::

Snagged this S&M single blade #51 Prototype to add to my small collection of that relatively rare model. All the ones I own are Factory Samples or Prototypes that never made it into production, as far as I know.

Love this pattern; love this bone 😍 This 06L is a testament to the high “GEC level” quality that Queen was once known for; a very well made knife. Just look at how well the shield is inlaid perfectly into the ridges of the carved bone. That level of attention to detail exemplifies the precision craftsmanship.
