Information about Hollinger Cutlery Co.

I have a small pen knife with a blade etch "Hollinger Cut. Co." I must have picked it up on eBay a while ago. Anyway, there is no specific company named Hollinger Cutlery Co. I checked Goins' and he only listed Hollinger Fremont Ohio and Joseph Holinger. I also checked online and there is nothing listed by that company name. Does anyone have any information about Hollinger Cutlery Co.?

There's not much information on this brand but if you do a "search" there are others posted.

Hollinger Cutlery Co. of Freemont, Ohio. They were in business from 1905-1958.They manufactured kitchen and butcher knives, and had a complete line of pocketknives, shears, straight razors, etc. for sale. Although I have proof they manufactured knives in their plant, it has been suggested that some of their cutlery lines were made by other companies.

Levine's "Guide" lists them as Fremont, OH c.1919 and a "high" value rating. Hard to say about that one> Good luck with it. J.O'.

Every Hollinger pocket knife that I have either owned or seen (including the OP knife) was a contract knife made by Ulster in the 1950's to 60's. That would fit with a company whose primary product was kitchen/butcher knives. Contract out the pocket knives, which are more difficult to produce.

Thank you to everyone! The information is incredibly useful. I think Goins' made a reference that some of their cutlery was made by other manufacturers. My knife appears to be 1950s vintage. Thansk again!
