Several 1990s Fight N Rooster Celluloid Handles Stockman

I just applied to open a store on here and the first knife I am going to list is as stated and I was wondering if I am about right with the price. I've had all 3 of the knives I have like this since 04 and the red one for sure I'll have to check over the others good but anyway the red one has had a little crack coming from the pins or maybe two that wouldn't be noticed by a non knife guy and are tiny. I know this is usually a warning sign of potential gassing out but the lines have been there since I have owned them for over 20 years so I feel as it is stable but you guys are the ones with the knowledge. But anyway its red, says hell stays open all night on it and is a 3 bladed stockman. I figured it would sell for around 100 dollars. Am I way off or is that about in the ballpark? Thanks for helping me. I've bought knives and things on eBay but have only sold a case stag trapper. To be honest I am out of the loop when it comes to prices today and would appreciate any advice. Sounds close on the price to me maybe $80-100, hard to say with no picture. Who knows on the cracks, they could be nothing, I alway try to look for the rust haze, tarnish on brass and nickel and porous looking spots.

Photos would help. I really like Fight'n Rooster. But, personally, I have a definite upper limit on what I will pay for any celluloid handled knife, and $100 is over that limit. I have to figure on paying to have it rehandled.

Check your knife closely for any sing of "gassing". It will drastically affect the value.

Thank you. I sold one to a guy in person for 75 this morning (I said 100 he said 60 and we ended up meeting at 75) so I only have 3 left now. If they approve my store I would be happy after fees and everything else is taken out if I can get 50 bucks or so of actual in my pocket money for them as that sounds more reasonable. I just want to offer a fair price to everyone on here if approved because I have gotten so much enjoyment out of the people on this website over the years. Because another person I spoke to said the same thing about the handles to me it seems funny to me that they still used celluloid as a handle material because after doing some research the gassing problems were already well known when these knives were produced. I'm trying to get money to buy my son a phone or I would never sell them. I went to a pawn shop to try and sell them and they just offered 30 bucks a piece and said they had never heard of that brand before. I told the that while not popular most any knife guy is probably familiar with them as being quality knives (besides the handles). I thanked the guy but told him I would need more than 30 out of them because I paid more than that for them years ago myself. I thought since the cracks haven't changed any over time I was in the clear. Thank you for the advice and I want to sell them fast now. That should get more people willing to buy them with the lower price. If they approve my store I would be happy if after fees and everything are taken out I want to try to get 150 bucks for the 3. Does that price sound reasonable to you? Also these knives have just been sitting in a zip up case for over 20 years. Should I clean them up good 1st or leave them like they are. They are in very good condition and I don't think they have been sharpened. One of the shields on the gold one has tarnished some I noticed and I would definitely have to give it a few wipes for sure. I usually when buying get suspicious when I see a shiny perfect knife unless it's a newer case or other stainless knife and I wouldn't want anyone thinking I had did anything unsavory to them or that I was trying to rip them off. I've learned that people on this site generally know what they are talking about and so I appreciate the advice and hope I'm not bugging you.

I just got the knives out and noticed that the gold one has actually been sharpened a little bit. I remembered wrong when I typed earlier.

I may be getting ahead of myself because they might not approve my store. I have 100 percent eBay rating but I have only sold 4 items and all the rest is from buying. I sure hope they do. The 20 knife plan would be more than enough for me in a years time as health problems have taken my income down to where I don't have any extra money to spend on knives but rarely these days. So you think they will approve my store or not.

You are certainly not bugging me! The knives in the photo look nice. I agree that it is odd that the factory where Figh'n Rooster, and Bulldog, knives were made was still using celluloid. The thing is, the celluloid on those newer knives seem worse about gassing than the old time knives. If you look at Ebay offerings you can usually spot both Figh'n Rooster and Bulldog knives that are starting to corrode.

I am not saying that $100 is unreasonable, just more than I would pay, but I am not a big spender at best.

Not sure which one you sold, and it could be the lighting in your photo, but there are two that look a little like they may be gassing, The red one is showing early signs, but the yellow one definitely looks suspicious. But like I said, it maay just be the lighting on thr photo.

I saw that Mel, maybe he more planned for his store who knows for sure if he posts something for sale in the forums without a subscription, the admins will be flooded with alerts from savvy AAPK’ers

I would never try to sale something in an improper way using this site. I sold the 1 knife in person at the barbershop this morning. I would probably have like a knife a month to sell so the bronze level is fine for me. I just have to get approved and scratch up the money for the store fee. I love this sight and wouldn't jepordize my good standing on this site.
