Information request

Post by 3030remchesterCOLO »

In a box of knives I acquired are 2 others I know little about. The first is obviously a stag scaled Gerber lockback but has no other information. Is this one of Gerber's Chinese imports or domestic built. The second knife I have never heard of. A folder that to me looks like something Parker produced or imported. Marked " American Blade" on one side and "AB-23 CHATT. TN." on the other. Does anyone have any insight on these two folders?

Your Gerber folder is indeed an off-shore product. Originally, it was part of a boxed set of stag handled knives offered in 2007. As I remember, the sets were sold at Walmart as a special Christmas item. It is a Gerber in name only.

Thanks. It just didn't have the feel or look of a domestic Gerber.

The American Blade company was out of Chattanooga TN. All of their knives that I have seen were manufactured in Japan, and are fairly good quality. I do not recall specifics, but I think that Parker might have been involved with the company.
