Any Train Enthusiasts Out There?

If you can think of something to talk about that is not related to knives, discuss it here.

Forgot not quite trains but also Decalb steam club weekend. Have not been to that in forever think there used to be some flea market activities there also my dad would look for knives. Not sure if I’m remembering that correctly or not.

I hope you take pictures. Is this an annual event? I would think about making the drive, but we have plans with the grandkids.

That would be a good one, and what a bargain at $13.09!!

Santa Fe C40-8W 892 WB at Mulvane Kansas. Late 90's.... Mulvane is interesting Two Santa Fe main line's cross here. Chicago to LA main crossed over the Texas main line here. Some where around 80-100 trains a day ply these rails. SF 892 WB is rolling off the Emporia north main onto the Emporia Sub headed for the west coast...

Good afternoon Ike
Yes diesel days is an annual event. My better half is off to St. Louis for a gender reveal party and my daughter is coming over from her base.
So my ladies are together this weekend, I’m batching it not sure what all is on my agenda.
Have a great weekend. You all keep the great pictures coming.

John, John, great videos!!!! Thank you for posting, great sights and sounds that you put together. When you mentioned that you were going, I expected 2 or 3 passenger cars, I was way off. Did they fill those?

That last pic of the CSX is excellent! ::tu:: ::tu::

They had a really good turnout, Ike. When we were coming back into Cumberland, it started dumping rain. I hope the people in the open air car got inside another car because we noticed the seats were soaked while exiting. That thunderstorm hit right before 4:00. The next morning while getting in our steps, I noticed this on the same tracks. Happy we made it through prior. 😉

Some powerful photos redrider and Ike. I just think today's photos are especially good at conveying the innate power of these locomotives.

Hopefully you can get the feel from my video, and I forget what whitle they're using now. They have been rotating whistles that were period and roadname correct.

*Edit- it's a Hancock 3 Chime

These aren't my pics, but here are a few Alco "alligators". Is it just me, or does anyone else out there think these are great looking locos?

Steve, have you ever seen the one at Illinois Railway Museum?

Good afternoon Ike
Take a close look at your picture and the one I took at Diesel Days? I’m not train savvy like all of you. But if zoom in on both pictures it looks like the same road #2407? I think that means the same exact engine. If you look at IRM, think it said it arrived in 96 and is operating. Not sure if the picture you posted is at the museum.

Also in your picture it looks like something is burning behind it.

Same loco, I didn't know if that pic was at IRM or not.

I would say the smoke is coming from the loco, see attached info.
