Camillus 89 Tang Stamp Help

I have this 89 listed in my AAPK store, but the tang stamp baffles me. When researching, I find it should be long line, according to this Camillus tang stamp chart here on AAPK. http://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/cat ... ence-guide ... To my understanding, the 89 appeared in catalogs from 1972-82.

Is this knife an oddity ???, with an older main blade from 1946-50, or has the main blade or all blades been replaced with the short line one. All the blades have the same patina, as if they have always been together. Any help and info much appreciated.

Tony. Your 89 is good to go . Camillus used up there short line stock first going into the long line period . So a number of the knives with slanted bolsters had short line blades in them . Happened with the orange handled MC 1 also . They had a few with short line mains .
Vitale had clarified it in a thread in the Camillus section . Can’t remember which thread though .

Thanks JP! I thought that was the case. The knife does not look to be tampered with, just not taken care of.
