woodwalker wrote: Wed Jul 16, 2025 10:57 pm Pringle Tree (Chris) just bombed me with an ALOX Pioneer SAK!! I had mentioned that I had around 7 different SAK's and I had been carrying one since the early 80's. He said he bought a Alox Pioneer in 1977 in Albuquerque, New Mexico at the mall and had just retired it!! I mentioned that I would have to look that one up and didnt have one. He messaged me and asked for my address and he said he found something in his house he thought I might like. Well, my wife told me on my lunch break that I had a package. Man, that second half of the day was so long. I couldn't wait to get home. I just got home from work and opened my package and now am the PROUD owner of a beautiful Alox Pioneer SAK!! Thank you so much Chris!! I will carry it and show this knife off at work and will always think of such a nice gesture on your part Chris!! My wife says,"that is one pretty knife!!! ::handshake:: :D ::ds:: ::ds::
Happy to see it in such good hands, ww. That Pioneer came in a trade last year--a sweetener thrown into a deal that I was already happy with. Our SAK conversation brought it to mind, and I knew it should go on to you, where it will see regular carry.

Enjoy,

Chris J.

Had a package delivered to my old address (getting a divorce finally) from a frequent buyer of mine!
He decided to thank me for all the extras I've sent him over the years with this BOMB!!!
It is very humbling to receive an unexpected gift (BOMB) from anyone but when
your customer bombs you.....it's something extra....
\and Robert certainly overdid it~!~

Time to wake up this thread with a vengeance. ::ds:: I recently purchased a small group of knives from my good friend, Q, and was left utterly speechless when I opened the package.

Along with my purchase of some Beautiful Stag Mini-Ts he was looking to move, he included this unbelievably Gorgeous Northwoods Giraffe Bone Hawthorne Jack "BOMB" that left me shellshocked like no Bomb ever has before or ever will again. And the history of this beautiful knife and unprecedented act of kindness and generosity makes it even more special.

Q had offered this knife for purchase a couple of years ago while we were working on another one of our many deals, but his good friend Brian (Ivoryman) beat me to the punch to add it to his legendary Northwoods collection. Fast forward two years after the tragic loss of our friend, Brian's wife sent Q this knife with a couple others that held great sentimental value. Of course, Q being who he is, remembered how much I loved this Gorgeous knife and absolutely blew my mind by adding it to the group of beautiful Mini-Ts he sent.

Thanks again, my friend, for this special knife that will be the centerpiece of my collection and will always serve as a reminder of the generosity of great friends I have made here on the Forum. ::handshake::

Wow that is a nice bomb Kevin, what a sweet knife.

Kevin and I traded several knives of late and he included this beautiful Mcusta Ripple with the recent knives he sent me. What a beautiful knife this is and how well it fits in hand. Ironwood handles and VG-10 blade. Thank you so much Kevin.

Received this beauty yesterday from Tony at Corn Creek Cutlery. I mentioned how much I liked the one that Tony posted and was hoping to purchase one, but before I could get that done, Tony sent me one gratis. Thank you Tony, I plan to use this one and see how it holds up. Been excited to try out one of these Rosecraft Blades ever since I purchased a few a year or two ago. I like this blue denim Micarta, looks great and I am sure it will hold up over time with use. I like the way the run up on these is tight and the centering is spot on. High quality piece.

Had a short notice that a bombing was likely to take place at Starvation Plantation, kinda like an air raid siren went off!
Pringletree made a direct hit this morning!
An interesting knife made it through from West Virginia, a rehandled Camillus from the Riders of the Silver Screen series. Chris said herba of AAPK fame, recoverd it with dark red canvas micarta.
The big, heavy duty knife reminds me of a #23 Camillus, just has a blade on each end. Told Chris it might be an equal end moose or a cigar moose. ::shrug::
Pringletree said it was intended as a EDC, it'll get some pocket time. ::nod::

Thanks, Q! Yes, Herb did great work with the rehandle.

Glad you like it TF! Yes, it's similar to a Cam 23 in size, about an 1/8 inch or so longer than a 23. I like the size and blades, but the original "collectors series" covers--not so much. Hence, the rehandle by Herb. A little recon here on AAPK showed that you like red covers. I've been EDCing one myself that Herb rehandled for me in Raffir Fiber Ntangle red.

Enjoy,

Chris J.
