Went to the 127 yard-sale last week. It was hot, so much stuff there. Hard to stop at every venue, so tried to limit it to major set ups. Bought a shoe box full of goodies. The only 2 major knife scores I made were the Barnsley Bros. elephant toe and the S&M. Also scored a Louisville / Nashville Railroad hatchet, which I think is a keeper. I probably bought 40 - 50 Zippo lighters as well along with other things.

Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............
Got this one in the mail yesterday, a McCoy Muskrat. Both blades are stamped MT. IDA over ARKANSAS. I suppose the main blade is the one marked MCCOY MUSKRAT.
I was pleasantly surprised to find it covered with pretty yellow bone handles, from the ebay picture I though Delrin.
Not sure about the McCoy knives if they assemble with parts from knife mfgs or they are made by a company and stamped with their name. Some articles seem to indicate Colonial had something to do with these.
The quality is good and the blades remind me of a Utica muskrat that is supposed to be in my possession, some where.
Any information about manufacturer would be appreciated. Treefarmer

Farmer, if I was a betting man I'd bet bear& son is making their knives now.
I have a couple made by Colonial back in the day.

Nice score on both counts Bob, that elephant toe was worth the trip, probably worth quite a bit of money.
Treefarmer that main blade on that muskrat is so slender. I wondered if it was worn down that much, but then the etching is still intact and makes me think it was made that way. Handy knife and good score.

SSK, it has the factory edges on it. The McCoy web site shows a yellow muskrat on their page with the same thin blades.Sharpnshinyknives wrote: ↑Wed Aug 13, 2025 10:58 am Nice score on both counts Bob, that elephant toe was worth the trip, probably worth quite a bit of money.

I posted yesterday that I have a Utica muskrat around here someplace that also has thin blades, just can't find it.
bighomer mentioned it might be a Bear and son product. Looking at several Bear and son knives in my possession, they all now have stainless liners while this muskrat has brass.

Ordered this Silver Kershaw from Corn Creek Cutlery and received it with a bit extra inside the box. Big ThankYou Tony for the Camillus mil k 1972 bonus knife . It will go with the other military camillus knives. And appreciate the upgrade to priority mail at no extra charge
Ordered this Kershaw for a good friend who just retired from 40 plus years as a Union Carpenter. He used my blue one last week and he was impressed with the knife so we gifted him this Silver one . He took off on vacation with a grin and his new Kershaw . Thanks for your help with this one Tony .
You all stay cool out there .

These three beauties came my way earlier this week courtesy of the notorious knife addict of Indiana (and I thought I was an enabler!

What model number is the Schade? I absolutely love the idea of a trapper with a pen blade.

Three beauties indeed. Green usually doesn't do it for me but that top one is an exception. And pretty bone on the other 2. Good shot knife addict.

Glad you like'em, Q; and BTW, I'm still recovering from the fallout of the Northwoods Nuclear Annihilation I experienced a couple weeks ago
so thanks again for that. Also, I have to mention that the little Schrade Trapper with the Beautiful Bones & Great blade design looks better every time I see it.
You are definitely well deserving for all the work you do, along with the other administrators to keep this site running as smoothly as it does.
I don't think we could have found a more appropriate knife. I think Tom's Choice was definitely the right one!

I think this may have been a scrim kit knife. It came as a surprise in a group dredged out of the bay. Possibly from a souvenir shop. It's quite nice work though, and I like the frost knives from Japan.
That's my Etsy store where I sell old knives and sometimes handmade knife accessories to support my knife habbit. Thanks for looking my friend.

Wow, that’s an incredible collection! The Cattaraugus with mammoth ivory scales looks amazing, and the Moki 901 is a real beauty. But those Master Seizo Imai blades are truly exceptional—especially knowing they were made for the Singapore military and finished by Fumio Inagaki. Owning pieces with such a direct connection to Singapore’s history makes this haul even more impressive!Sharpnshinyknives wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2024 9:17 pm I envy your proximity to GEC Rob. Nice haul.
Got a few knives in the last few weeks, thought I would catch up. The first is a Cattaraugus Cutlery made by Canal Street. Mammoth ivory scales.
Second is a Moki 901 with resin scales.
Third are 3 Master Seizo Imai fixed blades that were finished by Fumio Inagaki, who apprenticed under Master Imai. The blades were made in 2005 for the Singapore military. These were left overs that Master Imai didn’t finish while he was alive. Really nice all three.

That's a pretty neat knife. I reckon living my sheltered life, I wasn't aware of a "schrimshaw kit" knife. Somebody did a great job on the sailing ship and scene ad on top of that it's a muskrat!ThatWeirdKnifeGuy wrote: ↑Mon Aug 18, 2025 11:46 pm I think this may have been a scrim kit knife. Picked up a Buck 112 Sport today on my statewide delivery route. I drive right by this shop on Tuesdays. I just have to pull into the parking lot if I’m making good time. Today I was.
