ID of old Western folder

In 1911, H. N. Platts, was able to draw on his extensive friendships and family connections in the cutlery world to start Western States Cutlery and Manufacturing of Boulder Colorado. At first only a jobbing business, by 1920 construction and machinery purchases were underway to begin manufacture of knives. Through name changes--to Western States Cutlery Co. in 1953, then Western Cutlery Co. in 1956--and moves first across town and later to Longmont Colorado, the company stayed under the leadership of the Platt family until 1984. In that year, the company was sold to Coleman, becoming Coleman-Western. Eventually purchased by Camillus in 1991, Western continued until Camillus expired in 2007.

Old thread I know ::nod::

Do you have a catalog picture of the model # 6100L?

I am interested in seeing what the lock looks like.

The other "100" pattern style of coke bottle handled single blade knives had 2 nickle-silver bolsters and were the ::
6100 - bone stag handles, heavy saber clip blade - 1925, 1931 and 1941 catalogs
6100-L (aka6100L), bone stag handles, but with a blade lock (type undefined) - 1925, 1931 and 1941 catalogs

Notice that the 1936 catalog did NOT include the 6100, 6100L, 2100V, 2100BH, and 3100 models. Who knows why they were omitted from the 1936 catalog but do reappear in the 1941 catalog.
Looking for a catalog cut or real knife picture of a 6100L if you have anything. ::tu::

Is this what you're looking for? This knife appears to be the model 6100-L ( nickel silver bolsters at each end, bone stag handles, lock).

Not my knife, not my pics.

Thanks for posting the picture ::tu::

The one I am looking for has a lock in the side of the bolster, like a button I am assuming, don't know because I have never seen one before.

Your welcome . I have found the folks at A.A.P.K. to helpful when I have had a question or two . Was the 6100L with the dog head the knife you were inquiring about ? Posting picture of one more dog head lock back from Sargents .My guess would be the 6100L would have close to the same production dates
