What is Your Latest Old Schrade?

Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

Can anyone help me date my grandfather's knife? I know it's a schrade-walden Stockman 825 knife from before their N.Y. location closed down, but it doesn't quite match the images I see of other ones that say "Razor Blade Stainless". I can't get a good enough photo that makes the writing show up- I'll pull the pro-camera later- but the writing says "Razor Blade Stainless" in large letters, and then in small letters under it

"pat. pend."

.
I know that the handle is apparently "Peach Pit Jig" or at least theose are the words I see used for other handles that look like this one. I'd quite like to know what the handle is made of, and how old the knife is.

Found this Schrade Walden 823 to add to the slenderino collection. Had no idea these wood handled ones even existed. I like it a lot.

That's nicer than mine! Great pattern. The "wood" may be synthetic, I think they called it Propwood.

I like those wood handled Schrades, Nick and Glenn. I have never come across one of those.

Thanks guys, the knife came still in the cellophane wrapper in original box but it still has a couple of scuff marks, I'm a fan of this pattern and was tickled to find the wooden handle version. The cellophane was stuck to the handle, couldn't save it.

Searched long and hard, and paid a heavy price for a Cut Co era boys knife. Danno was kind enough to give me another so here is the pair. Thanks for an incredible addition Danno. ::handshake::
