This is a small knife (6 7/8" overall) from Arno Bernard of South Africa. The handle is warthog ivory.

I was very pleased with that Joker. Nice size for EDC. Still has a full handle. Super sharp, and we'll see how that 1.114... steel holds sharp. I'll post back again, after a few weeks of daily use with a performance update. A note on the excellent sheath: it rides high up and tight against the body. Nearly a perfect carry.

I concur! Very nice. The blade on that Mountain Man was a bread knife in its youth.

Here is a Korean War era knife by Schrade Walden. They are now somewhere between uncommon and rare, especially in un-used condition. I have a pretty one in my outbox and a scruffier one to go with my personal appearance which I keep around to use if a need arises.

Later in the 1950s Schrade came out with a line of similar low price point knives for the civilian hunting and all-purpose folk. There were a few versions. The H-15 was the most common.

I have one of these, with very dark red or brown spacers & NO H-15 mark. Is mine military issue? I am in the hospital of I would get a picture of it. Thank you for any help.

The GI knife has heavier blade stock, heavier steel double guard, and the distinctive 'sun-ray' crimp in the middle of the steel pommel. They are all or nearly all Parkerized. The H-15 and all the rest of the fixed blades for the civilian market are lighter duty.
