Three Remington Finds This Week and A Tang Stamp Question

The Remington Corporation and the knives that they built have influenced the U.S. cutlery industry more than nearly any other manufacturer. From the time America was settled, to the end of WWI, American knife companies struggled to compete with Britain and German imports, but events that occurred during and after the First World War led to a great change in this phenomenon. Three Remington Finds This Week and A Tang Stamp Question

I just got these three in two days of picking at the huge Brimfield Massachussetts outdoor antique show. A total of $110 for the three. I especially like the six-blade scout utility knife.

Question - see the tang stamp pic - thet is the tang stamp on the little penknife - what does the "S" mean above the REMINGTON - I don't recall ever having seen that before.

I think the "S" indicates Stainless steel. Not 100% certain about that, however.

I believe there is a "S" at both the top and bottom of the tang stamp.
