Camillus Boy Scout knives

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

Tom, I have an answer for this one. I bought this while I was passing through a small town more than twenty years ago, the kind that if you blink you would miss it. Seen a store, parked and went in, looked like an old hardware store but they sold groceries and a little bit of everything. Looked for a knife display didn't see any and was walking out, the middle aged clerk asked me what I was looking for. I said old pocket knives, he reached under the counter and in an old cigar box were about a half dozen of these.

I took one out and was disappointed it was Delrin :( asked how much and IIRC it was about $20, I bought just the one you see here ::facepalm:: should have bought them all! ::smack::

Wow that’s quite a story - those BSA #1047’s started in 1970, I became a Boy Scout in 1968 and the rage was the 4-bladed Ulster Scoutmaster model (BSA #1036), the 1st official stainless steel folding knife but it was more money than your 3-bladed model. Quite a story for sure.

Hi, folks. Newbie here. I am trying to learn date, model, or anything else I can about my favorite pocket knife! I posted in a different thread and had suggested that I post here, too. With that suggestion came a pic that suggested this knife features a four-line stamp used from the mid-1930s to early 1940s. And way to learn more about this lovely knife? Thank you in advance; I know this is not an authorized model.

Have been viewing this thread with interest. I would like to find and purchase a Boy Scout knife from the 1968-69 time frame. I believe, according to what I have read here, that it was of the 4-blade Ulster pattern. As I recall, it had saw-cut Delrin scales rather than the jigged bone look. Does that sound right?
Thanks for any help anyone can provide.
Ken
