Anyone ever come across this maker?

Post by gino »

Wondering if anyone has ever come across one of these
I just purchased it and it’s on the way
Fit and finish looks good and the research I did it seems to be a pretty decent manufacturer

I am familiar with that makers knives, gino. and any others I've seen seem to be of high quality. Your lovely new knife has a definite Seki, Japan "look" to it. When Mark and/or Tony view it they will likely have more info for you. ::hmm::
Very nice catch, buddy! ::handshake::

Gino, that is a beautiful knife! ::tu:: I do not have any Kanetsune knives yet. looks like you have researched it, but I will offer a little info for future forum research, from their website Kanetsuneusa.com.

Kanetsune is named after a famous Japanese swordsmith who lived in the Muromachi period around the 14th-15th century. This skilled craftsman made extremely sharp and durable katanas that were respected by many Samurais in Japan and overseas. Some of Muromachi's swords are displayed in the Katana Museum in Seki City. Like the Kanetsune blades of old, today's Kanetsune knives are made in Seki, Japan, with the goal of producing high-quality traditional designs that are suitable for everyday use. This is achieved by blending traditional Japanese techniques with new ideas and modern technology. Kanetsune is a brand of Kitasho Co., Ltd., one of the most respected manufacturers of knives in Seki, Japan. Established in 1964, Kanetsune continues the bladesmith legacy of Seki City with its fine cutlery.
