I just picked up the Rough Rider Electrician's knife. Chicago knife works had them for $9.03 so I purchased 2. Very nice knife for the money. I made one a single blade Liner lock. I almost felt bad taking it apart because it was so nice. The single feels good in your pocket ::tu::

I like your new RR's, Nev, especially the one blade'er! lol!

The 2 model numbers you asked Big Bore for are as follows:
The longer is their RR2482 Trapper EZO mid-lock with Appaloosa covers.

And the shorter is their RR 2486 Barlow EZO slip-joint with Appaloosa covers.
I own both knives, and the trapper is a favorite since it's everything I like in a knife.

Hope that helps!

I have a 24 knife lot for sale on EBay - a lot of Rough Ryders and others - the colorful ones. If anyone is interested, I’d reduce the asking price to $210. I’d still need the postage , though, which is a guess as to how much it would cost to ship them.

Maybe my addiction has worn off. I have not bought anything new for a while. Here are a couple of whittlers that I like. Very nice walk and talk on these two.

Congratulations on the sale of this lot, Tim, it was an item you don't see for sale everyday and not everybody has a couple of hundred bucks kicking around to drop on a knife lot. ..."How much is it worth"..."As much as the eventual buyer is willing to pay"...! Glad for you buddy! ::handshake::

Here is Tater Skin RR2581 whittler that I just got. And a comparison photo with a RR2276. The same knife, just different materials. I like the look and feel of these knives: they have a nice heft.

Unfortunately, both are too hard to open for my taste. I would give one them some pocket time, but I would probably mess up a nail or nick myself trying to open it if I used one much.

I like whittlers and Tater Skin micarata is one of RR's best handles. ::tu:: The number of handle options available on that whittler pattern with a clip point master is up to four. Black Bone Stag is another good one. It's also offered with a Wharncliffe master blade if that fits your fancy.

One more member fell victim to your post and the follow up discussion. I bought the longer Appaloosa Bone lockback. It took awhile getting to me but at least I got the old pre-tarrif war price, approx. $18, IIRC. Mine was well made with excellent fit and finish. Were I designing it from scratch I'd add a swing guard, move the lock release to the left end for better leverage, and shorten the false edge or swage so the spine would be full width to the front end of the cresent finger nail pull to enhance the easy open feature. The packing invoice lists it as a swing guard so older versions likely had swing guards. It's a good looking knife for a small price.
