May 2025 AAPK Monthly Knife Giveaway

Post by bestgear »

This month Fishnguy56 (Guy), a repeat donor to the monthly knife giveaway, has decided to part ways with his Kershaw Kai, Macho Libre 2120 Lockback which has been lightly used and shows some wear.

This is a scarce Kershaw 2120 smooth bone handle folding knife made circa 1980s in Seki, Japan by Kai. It measures 4" long closed and features a mirror polished 2.75" long AUS-6 steel blade. Kershaw was founded in 1974 to design and manufacture tools that knife users would be proud to own, carry, and use. Along with extremely tight tolerance and state-of-the-art manufacturing techniques, this ensures that knives like the Kai, Macho Libre 2120 Lockback provide a lifetime of high performance.

Good Luck!
Instructions for entering the giveaway...

Simply click here and select a number between 0 and 999.

You will have until May 31st (6:00 P.M. Eastern) to pick a number, after which entries will not be considered. The Illinois State Lottery evening pick-three drawing will determine the winner on May 31st. The individual closest to the selected number without going over will win. The Illinois lottery results can be found on the following website:

https://www.illinoislottery.com/dbg/results/pick3

To be eligible to win, you must be 18 years of age and either (a) have made at least 100 total forum posts at the time of entering the monthly giveaway or (b) have previously donated successfully to at least one prior monthly knife giveaway.

Please ensure that your Board Preferences Miscellaneous Notifications are set to notify you via email when someone sends you a Private Message (PM) to ensure the time requirements below are met.

The first-place winner will be sent an AAPK PM after the drawing and will have three days to respond with contact and shipping information. If the first-place winner does not respond within three days, the knife will be offered to the next player on the list without going over.

The next-place winner will be sent an AAPK PM, and they will have one day to respond with contact and shipping information. If the next-place winner does not respond within one day, the knife will be offered in the same manner to the next player on the list without going over.

Again, good luck to all eligible participants!

are you sure you want to mess with the cosmic nature of your selection? I'll ask Bryan but I think in the past it has proven to be difficult.

I appreciate it Bryan and friends. If its 001 it looks like some one else walks away with it now though. Have no fear however. It seems I am indeed entwined with the lower digits this month as I just fat fingered the drop down menu and selected 2. Im going to just roll with it now and pretend like i woke up this morning intending to select 2 :D

I believe the person who selected 001,
Drsatan213, will be disqualified.

Only 35 eligible participants so far with 1 week to go before someone wins this beautiful Kershaw Kai, Macho Libre 2120 Lockback. I encourage everyone who is eligible to enter now if you haven’t already done so. Failure to enter will increase the odds of winning for those that did; go ahead, be a spoiler!

Sasquach's (Charlie) pick of 131 was 6 less than the winning lottery number drawn last night of 137 making his pick the closest to the winning lottery number without going over, congratulations! A PM has been sent to claim the prize! ::ds::

Congrats to our winner, that is a nice one to win.
One thing I always wondered about, what would happen if there was no winner? For example, the number drawn was 006 and no one picked a number below 006?

I would probably make a command decision and award the prize to the individual closest to the lottery number. I’ll have to check but we’ve had a pretty consistent run of low number picks that would negate that opportunity. Good question.
