Any Info on this Foster Bros. appreciated

I know New York Knife made it due to the Arm & Hammer logo on the rear tang. I would like to date it. Its surely old, its has steel liners and pins. It came from a A.A.P.K. store, but he really couldnt date it either.
I'm not looking at it, but I'm thinking its stamped Foster Bros. Fulton N.Y. in a arch. (really not sure if its Fulton or not, but I think so)

I'm thinking that Chatillion bought Foster Bros. knife out prob. in 1930 after reading your info. This knife was made by New York Knife due to the Arm & Hammer logo on the reverse tang.
I see you live South of Cincinatti, I drive through there pretty often heading South and I sure dread the evenng traffic,,it can be terrible!

You sure got that traffic right. It's jammed up north-bound in the mornings and south-bound in the evenings. Everybody trying to get into and out of Cincinnati and north. Sat in that traffic 5-days a week for 25-years. Got so used to it that jams don't bother me anymore. But I'd rather sit in traffic than try to get through Atlanta at rush hour. Them folks is NUTS!

I am reviving this long gone thread to show a recent acquisition, a 2 and 1/4 inch lobster style 2 blade. The tang stamp reads Foster Bros. Fulton NY. It has a small pen, a manicure tool for blades, and a bail. IMO it is probably a watch chain knife. Seems to be gold plated steel as it really polished up nicely.

Foster Brothers was owned by John Chatillon and all those knives were made by Phoenix Knife which was also owned by Chatillon.
The cokebottle above is definitely a Phoenix made knife,not New York Knife. The small serrated match strike pull is Phoenix. I don't know how or if the the cokebottle has a hammer on the back,but New York used the Hammer Brand logo on the front of the tang and New York Knife on the back.
Phoenix dates from 1892-1916.The factory burned down and was not rebuilt.

That was my thought too, the swell center does not resemble any NYK I have ever seen, including the bone. Thanks for verifying the actual manufacturer. I want to say that Chatillon used a slightly different "arm and hammer" logo in their advertising. I'll see if I can find that in my digital archive.
