Clay what ever
We found a spot on a Paten claim we were working that the ground was covered with pottery shards. My Friend Mat was rubbing it in for finding a white with black stripes Peace of pottery, I poped off ,That is nothing I found a dog, he snatched it out of my hand, Well I be darn, you sure did, I grabbed it out of his hand never dreaming that It was a dog. We think they were made to make the hunt bountiful. One has a hole all the way threw its body to let out the spirit, I was told. Trigo

Don't jump to conclusions or read too much into objects you find.
These may have been ' fetishes' as some like to call them, or simply toys to amuse a child. They might even have been made by a child, while an adult was doing the work of making more utilitarian pottery.
Whatever they are, they're a rare a wonderful find, and you are very lucky to have them.

If it's meant for me to have it, it'll still be there.

Here in east TX there have been found these pottery balls used for cooking. Wonderful find though.
