Re: What Else Do You Collect Besides Knives?
A few more snapshots and slides that I've collected over the years. The people are unidentified. Although Kodachrome is pretty durable, I have done a little color correction during the scans.
Chris
1) Cheeky, cheeky--a tight fit. Snapshot c. 1949-50. I believe the car to the left rear is a 1949 Ford. (My collection).
2) Kodachrome slide with the notation "Easter 1956" on the mount. (My collection).
3) Covington, VA, late 50s, I think. Undated Kodachrome slide (My collection). *The gas prices at the Esso station look like .22, .25, and .27 cents a gallon.
4) Inscribed "Deception Park, Bowman Bay, Anacortes, Washington, Aug 53" Gray mount, red border Kodachrome slide.(My collection).
5) A self-conscious beauty. Gray mount, red border Kodachrome slide, early-mid 1950s. (My collection).
6) South Vietnam. A young boy sells balloons on the street. Kodacolor print made in July 1966. Snapshot found in a U.S. soldier's photo album.(My collection).
7) Snapshot annotated on reverse: "Our Godchild Patty" A Kodacolor print made in August 1960. I believe the cars are a circa 1953 Ford Ranch Wagon and a 1956 Ford Fairlane with 1960 New York State plate.(My collection).

Cast iron ....
and I wish nowadays ....
that I didn't have some darn much of it ....
.... I must have over 200 pieces ....
the problems it is hard to get rid of it where I live, IF you don't want to just 'bout give it away ....
And it cost too much to ship it and sell it online....

That's a cool piece, interesting thing to collect. I read up on Wagner Ware after seeing your post. That is a 100 year old skillet, and highly regarded by collectors......but you knew that. Zeus licking bacon grease from it would have been a good pic to add to that sequence.

Sorry, but I think that kind of marketing is helping the degradation of today's society ...

Any one else collect Legos?
Probably not
This is a set I had 28 years ago as a kid. I was recently gifted this NOS one.
This time I put it together with my 5 year old son.

Thank you, Coley. I'll look and see if any of the supermarkets
by me carry those brands. But, I seriously doubt it.
I did post two bottles of MARIE SHARP'S HABANERO PEPPER SAUCE,
in my hot sauce post.

You're not supposed to use soap on cast iron skillets, so that sounds like a proper method of seasoning.GSPTOPDOG wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2024 7:00 pmThanks Ike,Waukonda wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2024 3:43 am That's a cool piece, interesting thing to collect. Re: What Else Do You Collect Besides Knives?
I know, I know.....what the hell does a jar of pickles have to do with "What Else Do You Collect Besides Knives?"
Well, this is what a jar of pickles has to do with this topic or thread. Back on Sunday, September 29, 2024, I
posted three pages of the many, various HOT SAUCES that I collected. Then, on Friday, November 29, 2024, I
posted my ALL TIME, ABSOLUTE FAVORITE, brand of HOT SAUCE. A few weeks ago, while grocery shopping, I
was looking for a jar of hot pepper rings. I had to pass by the pickles to get to the hot pepper rings. I was just
casually glancing at the pickles when this certain group of pickles caught my eye. The result was me buying a
jar of the pickles pictured below. It was one of my favorite brands of pickles combined with my ALL TIME,
ABSOLUTE FAVORITE, brand of HOT SAUCE. All I can say about this combination is,
FANTASTIC!!
In fact, my mouth is watering as I type this. This combination also comes in "chip" form of pickles. Besides
eating the pickles as a side for my burgers, hot dogs, etc. I love to put a spear in my Bloody Mary(s). A couple
of teaspoons of the brine in the Bloody Mary also kicks it up a notch. When the pickles are gone, I'm not done
with the brine. I pickle eggs in the brine and..... I can't do this anymore, I'm slobbering all over my keyboard.
But don't take my word for it, pick up a jar and judge for yourself.
