Sometimes a good shot of quick release oil on the junction where the spring and blade meet helps.
Then once I get it open, I'll wrap the blade with a cloth and work it back and forth a few times a day.
Usually after a couple of days it will become easier to open.

Sometimes though, you just get an ornery spring. I have an old Case 6392 that has a spey blade that's just
stiff no matter what..

You could probably send it back to Case and they will fix it for you. Probably under their warranty. Instructions for how to do a return are on the Case web site www.caseknives.com. Scroll down to the bottom and click on Warranty and Repair.
