A Diamond in the Rough
Found this old Schrade Walden 861 on Ebay last week and while it is no show knife I am very pleased with it.
Great walk and talk and blades are tight.
It's in my pocket til the next big thing comes along.

Great job cleaning it up. Lots of life left in it.
If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.

Nice choice on the buy. Sometime you just see the potential in the diamond.
Now you've got a nice packer.

You got it tuned up, just right.
I enjoy finding an old knife and bringing it back to life. A little cleaning, lubrication and tuning up edges are about the extent of my cutlery skills but very satisfying.

Treefarmer you are right. Some of my favorites are junkers that I have cleaned up and carried.

Excellent find, brother. I love finding old knives like that on the bay and putting them to use. Good stuff!

Excellent job Nick! I love seeing a HOK like that one restored back to life.
