Solar british naval jack knife info?
does anybody have any info on this knife? ive inherited it from my great grandfather who was in the royal navy in world war two, all it says is Solar stainless steel on it, it seems to be a british naval jack knife with two blades. does anyone have any info they can tell me on the knife or even the company "solar" itself? thanks.

A basic, broad, "SOLAR" pocket knife Google search, provided
a VERY vague, made in Seki Japan description.

The knife may have belonged to your ancestor but it has absolutely nothing to do with the British navy. He most likely got this knife way later than WW2. All British military issue knives have the "broad arrow" mark on them. Most WW2 British navy issued knives have a marlin spike and have checkered synthetic black handles.

Re: Solar british naval jack knife info?
It looks like my kind of knife. I love brass and wood especially from Japan. I've not heard of the Solar brand or mark before, but if it's from Seki its probably a nice quality knife. My guess would be 70's, but perhaps earlier? Japanese imports were common here in the 70's and 80's but I don't know if that time table applies on the other side of the pond.
That's my Etsy store where I sell old knives and sometimes handmade knife accessories to support my knife habbit. Thanks for looking my friend.
