Knife Display Ideas

Hey guys I wanna display some of my newer nicer knives, with thier boxes. I'd like to see some pics of how you display yours for some ideas. I would also like to find a place to purchase some acrylic knife stands. any ideas, tips, links will be appreciated greatly.

I havent bought any of these yet, but the guys I know that have say they are top quality, not only can the price not be beat but you get to pic the wood and felt color!

What I use to display my knives is somewhat unusual, but it really works
well, and gives you the ability to display a LOT of knives...even if you want to keep some in the boxes, collector tins, etc.

It's actually called either a "sofa table" or "library table". It looks like an
elongated end table, but it's 29 inches tall; 50 inches wide; and 18 inches
deep. The top is made of a very large sheet of glass...(removable...it
sits within an inset in the table top). The inside of the table is recessed so
that, in effect, it looks like a large glass covered display case...but it's a
nice piece of furniture. I have mine in my office/library. It holds over 50
knives right now, and I could probably squeeze a few more in there. The
knives lay nicely right inside, and the glass cover keeps out dust, dirt,
etc. If you want to take a knife out...you just lift the glass...I put a small
knob on mine for that purpose. I'll try and get out a photo for you.

Just an idea, but you may want to look into something like that?

I have a few wood display cases for the ones without boxes.
Jabberwocky that sounds terrific, I'd love to see a photo if you get time.

Carl, TY...I bought the 30 medium styles. They look like they will hold the box wih the knife resting on top.

This was my FIRST attempt at making a display case, completed about a month ago. As you cas see it was done on a small scale, and has some problems, but it was mainly a practice run. My next one will probably be an upright version, and larger.

i prefer enclosed displays. here is one of mine. protection, safe from handling, etc. the stands do make a knife stand out though. i like the wood ones.

Here's a homemade knife rack of mine displaying both folders & fixed blade knives. I just clean em when need be, all open I am able to get my hands on em.

My Dad and Grandpa were woodworkers, that gene skipped me...

Great knives jonet, they look good in the black case.
I like that shadowbox stagman, was thinking of something along
that line for mine, maybe with a plexiglass front. Neat idea
on the fixed blades.

Nice job each and every one of you. This is a great idea for a thread. I like the clear stands El Lobo shows us, and I use many of them. Here is some Bucks. Also, I like the hang on the wall types where the glass holds the knives against the foam back. But I don't think anything works better than original factory display cases. As the original poster desired somewhere to also keep the boxes safe, well, there is usually box storage and extra stock space built into these. Here is a Schrade insert, taken out of the glass case for ease of photoing.

ps... I think a CD or DVD tower filled with the clear plastic display stands would work great!

Finally, we get a little additional taste of your knife displays...

Looks like the Schrade board is almost filled up. I couldn't quite tell which ones you still need?

Anyway, some nice displays here, great to see, and discuss.

I still need an 885UH..... But! Although you cannot see them, each of these knives has a blade etch; Many of them are the annual 'Compliments of' knives given away by Schrade. Just making it a bit harder to collect what is still common place knifes. I bought the display, one of several, from area hardware stores when Schrade went out of business.

Here is a nice Camillus case. The first post war counter display.

Gr8Scout I have one Schrade 885UH King Ranch. I am not sure if any thing eched on the blade.

The other one u missing?? 7OT Schrade ??

The small one blade I still cant make out. what is that you need ?

Extremely sorry for the delay on the photo of the knife
display "sofa table"...daughter Courtney's had my Nikon

hey ken, nice display and cabinet. did you modify the case? it's hard to get all the things lit up, you might want to try some additional lighting indoors. very good, keep it up.

very nice indeed just. i have one 4' x 2' curio stuffed plum' full. I like the schrade collection on bottom, super looking set of knives.
