Fun to make something outa nothing ...
My dad used to always say that & as I get longer in the tooth, I see it seems to have its rewards. Just a little Parker mini-lockblade I got off eBay for $5 with a tipped blade - fashioned it into a neat little box opener...

Looks very functional. have a couple of old knives with tipped blades that I reshaped into a sheep foot. There is a satisfaction in using one that I worked on.

Nice knife!
I bought a Case with a tipped blade. I made it into
a screwdriver. The process was very satisfying.

I agree on all points:
It was a knife worth saving, and you did a good job of that.
And it is deeply satisfying to carry a knife that you repaired, made, or altered with our own hand; much more satisfying than just carrying a beautiful knife.

Thanks fellas - was a fun project. What's also neat is this knife is a size I didn't have - seems most small lockbacks are 3-1/4" - this one measures 2-7/8". It's noticeably smaller & disappears in the pocket.

My favorite thing, seeing old knives saved and given a new life. Looks great.
