Looking good! Don't get discouraged if you hit a wall, or have a bad run. It happens to me, and I just end up leaving the work until I am in the right frame of mind to attack things again.

Is that the first one that you have done in stag? I can't remember (and am too lazy to search the posts), but either way it looks great!

I just wanted to post one last time on this thread. I just finished these two knives. One in stag the other in bone. I look back from when I 1st started this thread. I can see a lot of improvement in the knives and my workmanship. I can only thank all the people on this sight that have given me advice and encouragement. Thank you all for the help.

Sorry Marco I did not mean to sound like I was saying good buy. I am going to ease up on the knives for awhile before everyone gets tired of me posting the repairs. Plus with the weather getting warmer I have to get on some outside work around here mowing tree cutting some equipment repair. I will still be on here to check out everything but not as much. I will try to do knife work after all the other stuff is complete. Heck I am starting to get the hang of it So I won't quit just take a small break.

Yes 1st time with stag. I have been intimidated by Stag and bone In the beginning I tried bone and it did not turn out well. Now since I have some experience I thought I would give Stag a try. Thank God it did not crack I am still intimidated but I really like the look of bone and Stag and you know what they say practice makes improvement.

I really should write down what is on each knife I think that it was Mahogany color smooth bone. I really like it also

Well that's good to hear Nev! It was just the way it was worded kindda made it sound like you were leaving or something! I totally understand your reasons for slowing down a little to look after other "stuff", life often gets in the way of our hobby here! Thanks for clearing up the confusion!

I know this is an old thread I started in 2022. Man, where did all the time go I just wanted to thank everyone for the support and help on my journey in knife repair. I must say it has been fun and very frustrating at times, but we all know nothing in life is ever easy. I will show my last build. Not forever but to put this thread to bed. I always like to look at everyone's restores and builds to get inspiration and ideas of how to improve my work. As we all know AAPK has some great cutlers on this site. So here is a Camco electrician's knife I removed the screwdriver added bolsters and green bone handles. I think it looks good if I have to say myself. Just looking through this old post I have improved but still have a long way to go. Just wanted to share my latest build and thank everyone for all the support.

That is inspiring. I currently have an electricians knife on the kitchen counter that I am "planning" on turning into a single blade. I was thinking I could keep the liner-lock with a little tinkering.

It's a fun project. I have done 2 so far. One Rough rider that I did not add bolsters too. That worked out as an easy change Liner lock worked perfect. This old Camco you can see I soldered on nickel rear bolsters I really like that look. I did have trouble with the liner lock. It would not stay on the blade, so I filed the lock end to change the angle and filed the blade tang to match the lock. Works great now. Just thought I would give you a heads up

Feels good in the hand. The spear point blade is what I like most . I say go for it
