Some people think awls are useless, but I don’t know how many splinters I have dug out with that scary-sharp point.

Yes, when I saw that GEC made a cigar pattern like this; I had to try and find one. Fortunately we have really kind members at AAPK and one of them reached out to me as soon as I posted that I was looking for one.

Couple beauties DM.

This little GEC 14 boys knife is so light and compact. Forget it's in the pocket sometimes. Love the shield too. Here with an old Keen Kutter.

I've been carrying a GEC 651122 jigged red bone Ben Hogan Northfield. The 65 is one of my favorite patterns.

Do you find the cotton sampler useful/practical for everyday cutting chores?

I find any knife useful. Is it practical? Probably not. But it's fun to try out different blade designs. 🤠

Beauty rwm, good looking knife. Like that shield, the long pull, And I don't see many, if any, posted around the every day carry knives, or the threads for users. Good one. ::tu::

Thank you for the kind words. As someone once said; "Life is too short to carry a cheap knife." GEC is certainly one of the best slipjoint manufacturers in the world. I also love the Solingen made German knives in carbon steel, damascus or Bohler N690 blades. I have an old jigged bone Case CV stockman with punch that I use for rougher work.

That's very kind of you to mention. Thank you for such high praise and I'm humbled that you feel that way. That's how I feel about all the knives others show here that do the same for me. And your fine Benchmade pieces, like the red and gray Osbourne. I can't thank you enough. And want to thank all the AAPK people that taught me what to look for and what to hunt down like the blue camel. My most sincere gratitude and appreciation to ya for taking the time to mention. Made my day, or my whole week. ::nod::

Thank you too doglegg for always being so complimentary and likewise taking the time to mention. Brightens the day and the heart. ::handshake::

I switch up knives just about everyday and occasionally carry two depending on what I might be doing for the day. One of them is usually a GEC and I always have the little Leatherman Micra in my watch pocket. This Washington Jack is one of my latest favorite carries.

Carried this one exclusively for a long time after Ivoryman was kind enough to sell it to me.

When I got this one, it kicked the lambsfoot out of my pocket for a month or so. Now I switch back and forth between the two. The pictures are from when they were new, they both have significant patina now.
