Any idea?

Post by tysonwalsh78 »

Was gifted this for my collection. No makers mark on tang or liner. Anyone have any insight on this beauty?

I do not know the maker but my educated guess is that I’d of German influence. I base this on the bolsters and bail. I really like the way that nail is pinned in a notch. Something you rarely see. Wonderful looking piece

It looks like there may be some type of symbol on the blade tang. Can you show a closeup image of it?

Hmmm..took to it with a pencil and light dremel..can't really see anything.
*Edit. Can make out the 52 on the top right hand side of tang. Indicates high carbon steel. Not sure if I can identify it by the placement of the 52 or not.
