Man, those are both pretty knives. I really like the looks of that Wharncliff blade. Don't know what it is about it, maybe because you don't see it very often.

hey TJ - i have liked that halloween knife for a bit now.

also the wharnie blades are just awesomse blades.

whats really awesome about the case halloween knife is the wharnie being serrated.the serrations make it perfect for pumpkin carving.

hey TJ i would say that that no more then 90$ including shipping and all
would be fair.

the average price is lower though.

these are just the averages for the sites i use
these prices include shipping.

seahorse whittler - 70$-80$

toothpick - 80$

trapper - i have seen this as low as 45$shipped.on average though it has been about 50-65$.

so 90$ wouldnt be way off.if you want it for the holiday thats great.
if you wait till after halloween of course these pricse will be lower.

please correct me if im wrong but these knives are actually
only being produced in the amount of 350 each.
would i be wrong to say that 350 for CASE is actually a low run?

Thanks Peter. I never even thought about the after-Halloween sales. No, I don't need it for Halloween and will probably wait now. I did put in a "Best Offer" of $65 on one, he was asking $80. The mark-up on these things have to be the same as everything else, probably 100% from manufacturer to retail, so he might take it.

Here's another wharney I like.
Interestingly neither the tang or box indicates wharncliffe.
Box has EZ49 and the tang 3249.

Some other wharney Copperheads out there in bone minus the EZ
cutout.

Oops goofed again. Blade has EZ 49 , box has EZ 3249 CVM.
These are both CV but they did have a 6249wh ss come out in 2001.
I have seen a blue bone 49wh but not sure if it's ss or cv.

Fine lookin' deer horns on that whittilator TR.
If you rinse the punkin juice off the blades after use,
then apply a light film of oil, the seahorsie's blades
won't discolor so fast.

Wosey that's the way to keep 'em purdy. I'm gonna have to pick up one of them yellow Copperheads with the wharnie blade. I like that knife a lot.

But I have to ask this. Why do knife makers use BRASS pins on that fancy Case of tongueriver's ?

I am looking at her and thinking that SS pins would match the bolsters and shield much better. JMO

I don't know why they used brass pins, Ken. My feeble brain says that brass pins are soft, swell more easily in their holes, and fasten fragile stag and MOP with less chance of damage than hard, expensive, hard to work stainless steel ??

I've been watching the Halloween Wharnies and the price seems to be dropping with each sale. Saw one go for $62 and one go for $63. After halloween, they ought to be giving them away.

That doctor's knife is nice though.

No this is not an appaloosa just a smooth chestnut Wj
conversion from a regular jigged 1999 chestnut.
The newer (2006&up?) Case chestnut are lighter, more orangey
than the 2000 and back chestnuts. Maybe due to EPA mandated dye restrictions.
Case has been making some smooth chestnuts lately
but they often (if not always) have lasered on designs.
I wanted a plain smooth dark chestnut so I made one. "Poof"
I think it turned out pretty good meself.

Peter the doctor's knife you have the link for is not a true 'Case'
Halloween knife from the Holiday series.
As ad mentions, these spider web lasered persimmon orange
were an SFO for somebody like SHC or SMKW.
I think all the Case Halloween will have serrated master blades.
Handle laser art varies year to year.
2009 seahorse & toothpick are available now several places.
2007 mini trapper & 2008 Trapperlock I've seen on the Texas Knives
and Collectibles site.
2004-2006 editions more elusive & in demand.
I don't have any so all the above is just what I've overheard on the
cCc Halloween knife thread.
