I don't know about jewels concerning your knife but I can tell you that it is a gem, that's for sure.

I suspect it was standard production but it could be a “skeleton knife” made without handle covers, for sale to jewelers who attach custom covers, jewels, engraving, etc as per wishes if the end customer. A quick stop at a local jeweler can probably answer your question regarding “are they real jewels”.
