Early J.A. Henckles (twins) Unique blade

I would like to show an old... one-bladed knife four inches closed...the knife has black slick handles..Don't know what the material is...
This knife has a unique blade and is stamped with the (Twins logo J.A. Henckles Germany)...This knife has been well-used but in good
condition for it's age...I don't know very much about the knife like; What's the blade used for?... How old the knife may be?
I do have some other Twin Henckles but this seems to the oldest...I'm finding that it's not easy to determine the age of the knife
but hopefully someone will have more information to share!!

It's
a horticultural knife for grafting the bump on the spline is used as a spud to open the bark to insert a bud. It's dull as to not be more injurious to the stock plant.

This is an example of a classic ivory spud blade .

Schrade came later to the party and although new to them , German cutlery had this earlier. The knife on the left has the spud built into the spline, which they call a bark loosener.

Wow...I should have realized that it was a grafting knife...My dad and uncles grafted apples trees when I was a young child
My father would be out somewhere and see an apple tree that he liked and would stop and ask the owner what kind of apple it was
and could he have a graft of that tree..everbody seem to agree...When the time come to harvest the graft..my dad would bring one of
his grafts to put on the owners tree!! Great trade!!

I found another grafting/budding knife that is worth looking at... made by Schrade Walden with number 182 on the back side
the interesting thing is Tom Sabath & Henry F. Michell Co. with a telphone number on the handle
After checking I found Henry F. Michell established horticulture company in the late 1800's
