Have you seen my only "custom" knife, Tony? The reason I liked it is because it had a bit of a Loveless look. It was made by a fine maker
here in Ga. named Larry McEachern. It's a real beauty!

I like the blade's belly, and the mosaic adds to it's beauty. What are the handles made of?

You can certainly see his Mentor's influence in this knife. 4" Aus-6A Blade ... 8 3/8" OAL ... Maroon Micarta & Nickel Silver

Okay, this is only the second post 2004 Schrade Chinese product I own. The first one was a gift. I snagged this one out of pure curiosity. It is a Mod 181UH large bowie. The fit and finish is mediocre but acceptable. The handle material is listed as "Staglon" which I assume is Delrin based and durable. Solid brass guard is kinda' square and clunky. Blade steel is listed as "7Cr17MoV high carbon stainless steel". The knife is heavy and not very well balanced. I do like the sheath which is nylon cordura much better than kydex. Over all length is 15 3/8". For a knife costing less than 30 dollars I have to admit that it is a reasonably good tool if you need a large knife you can beat the crap out of and not worry about losing much if you destroy it. While knives made in China keep improving I'm still wishing for more American cutlers to enter the "affordable" knife market.

American knife makers seem to be unwilling to make the investment necessary to produce affordable knifes. They're only interested in the low production numbers, custom market.
