George Butler Sheffield stag knife

Interesting stag handled knife. George Butler ART Sheffield marked. Found at a local action.

I really like the blade stamp. And of course the stag.

Here is a small portion of the Tweedale's entry for Butler which shows the dates that the ART and Key trademarks were aquired. Interesting to note, according to the text, that counterfeit knives were a problem back in the mid 1800's.

Everything about that one is fabulous! The stag is awesome. That one is a treasure and deserves to be displayed.
