Looking for info..help please!
Hello! I'm brand new, not just to this site, but to the world of knives period! My life has recently become quite hectic, with my husband getting severely injured and requiring quite a lengthy hospital stay. We all know how fast those bills pile up. In addition to the expenses of travelling over 150miles one way each time I go see him, it seems like everything at home is tearing up. And I'm talking like big things...first it was my well pump, then the hot water heater, then the refrigerator and the washing machine. On the way home from the hospital earlier today, my car died. When it rains, it pours, right? My husband has a vast collection of a little bit of everything, knives included. I call him a "collector of collections".
So, to help make ends meet, I've recently started trying to sell some things. Problem is, I have no idea about knives, (or most of this stuff). I don't know the brands, the lingo, how to price them... basically nothing. I figured I could post some pictures here, hoping to get some honest answers and learn some things about knives while I'm at it. Any information I get is very much appreciated! God bless!
This is my very first post here, so I'm starting with just one knife.

First off, welcome to AAPK!
I hope that you have friends and family nearby to help you, as life can quickly get overwhelming in a situation like yours.
As far as selling knives, it can be a painstaking process. Details are EVERYTHING, and it takes a long time to learn which are important.
For starters, the manufacturer often stamps the main blade with their name. Yours looks like it may be a Voos brand. That particular knife pattern is a gentleman's watch fob knife. The thin blade is a manicure blade, and the bail (that loop on the end) is to fasten on the end of a pocket watch chain.
Gentleman's knives like that tend to have a lower collector's value. There may be exceptions, but I don't know enough about yours to know.
Clear, in-focus pictures are important. A closeup of the tang stamp(s), each side of the knife, with blades open and blades closed, are all a good start.

Sorry to read about your troubles, but
to AAPK. If you're planning to sell on eBay, do a Completed Listing search to see what similar knives have sold for. Listings ending on Saturday and Sunday nights around 9:00-10:00 PM EST seem to get the most attention.
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!
