Newest Acquisition, Rare Hardware store knife
Roger & Baldwin Hardware Co. According to Goins says 1898 but I happen to find a old post card that dates 1888, and William Rogers from Newburyport, Mass. He came to Springfield in 1885 and together with Alfred Baldwin formed the Rogers and Baldwin Hardware Company, one of the city's earliest and most important businesses. Mr. Rogers was one of the nation's earliest traveling salesmen, starting his career at sixteen and traveling from Chicago to New Orleans.
