A great start on a nice collection, Kathi !! ::tu::

And all but one for free ? I think you're doing much better than us old ginkers around here. Thanks for sharing with us.

It's nice to see a young lady with an interest in pocket knives. Back in Victorian times many women carried a small knife on their chatelaines and found them to be quite useful. Around the turn of the century ( not the last one, the one before that ) , an engraved silver fruit knife was just the 'thing' for a gift to mark a special occasion. And too, there was the little single blade switch blade called the Highschool Girl. 8)

Uhhhh.....so....I guess that makes you a throwback** ?

** To earlier convention.

Kathi don't go to antiques stores or flea markets, because if you do and find a nice old knife you will be hooked for life!!

Kathi; Congratulations on a great collection. Keep at it.

Did you know that in the latter part of the nineteenth century and the first half, or so of the twentieth century, there existed Valentine Day cards with a pocketknife theme?

I have several. If I can get them scanned, I'll post. Maybe you wouldn't be interested in such. I just thought a knife collector named Valentine might find that interesting.

Fran, had I known that, I'd have contacted you about the Pocketknife/Valentine cards!
Do you have any?
