Both Cumberland locations are on the current railcam snow rotation. I can practically see the farm.

Best I could do of my grand parents Farm/ farm-et 6 acres (Some day farm). 651 south Drive South Elgin Il. My sister snaked the sign i will have to get a picture so I can post it. No rail cam back in the day. Quite a scramble for my younger brother and I to get up to the tracks collect plenty of loose spikes in the day. A long long time ago. My uncle built a new house on it so we had to sell after everyone passed. We shot some wild pheasant in the day there also. Have to see if I can find any more pictures. We used to wave to anyone that would wave back.

Very cool! The only wild pheasant I have ever seen was once after skiing at Roundtop in PA., I was about a 1/2 mile south of the resort by some farmland. I stopped at a stop sign, looked to my right and there he was. Beautiful creatures, wish I had taken a picture. Probably several years ago at this stage.

No wild ones left here it’s a bummer only club hunting. The wife enjoys the way I cook them. She teases me about club hunting. Wasn’t sure if you could see the railroad tracks in the bottom of the picture. That was when trains used a caboose. Have not seen a caboose on a train in at least ten years possibly 15. Used to play ice hockey before work in Plainfield. One morning I am waiting for the train to pass and at the back was an orange Elgin Joliet & Eastern caboose. I think I had one in my collection at one point.

Re: Any Train Enthusiasts Out There?
Good morning David and other train folks.
Looked closer at the second picture and guess what I see?
Train cars looks like it could be a hopper and possibly some box cars.
Adds to the to the feel of the picture for sure.

No, not in Quincy.Quincy is an interesting river town with a pretty good transportation history. This photo is a little tidbit of it for you. Rail bridge constructed in 1868 for the Chicago,Burlington, and Quincy line.

Re: Any Train Enthusiasts Out There?
Here’s a shot of the Santa Fe Emporia Kansas depot from better days. Unfortunately, some homeless people got inside of it few years ago and burned to the ground. I don’t know who the original Photographer was.
