Gerber knife
I have a Gerber boot dagger 4 1/2" blade 8 1/2" overall serial #003192. I would like to know manufacture date and app.value. Knife is in good shape not new has some sharping marks on it.

Re: Gerber knife
Sounds like you have a Gerber Mark I but a photo from you would help clarify that assumption. The Mark 1 went into production in 1976. It was made in a couple of different configurations over the years and finally discontinued in 1997.
The Mark 1 is a double-edged dagger, with a blade running 4.75 to 5 inches in length, depending upon the year of production, and an overall length of about 9 inches. From 1976 to 1981, the blade was L6 high carbon steel, just like the Mark II. At that point, the company moved to using 440C stainless steel. The Command 1 was only made with the 440C stainless steel. The aluminum handle is 4 inches long. It is one piece and features a lanyard hole at the base.
Check sold listings on eBay for current market values between $50 and $250 for NIB.

Agreed, but curious if OPs knife is actually shorter. the Command I is 400C stainless but also has a partial serrated blade one one edge.
I'm looking at mine , so now I'm curious on the pics. (and I wanna "find" and dig out my old Tac II now too, that was one of my favs)
