information on knife
I have a knife in my collection that I can find no information on. It looks like a Quill knife. It has ebony wood handles. The tang stamp is "Smith & Edley". Can anyone help me? Thanks, Jim

Hello unc123,
Are there any other markings on the knife? I have never heard of Smith & Edley... You may want to post your question on the Bernard Levine forum. I would bet money that someone there would know something about this matter.

That post you quoted is from almost 20 years ago. The OP has not logged in here in nearly as long.

Nexgen77,
I can see that there are some markings on your knife, but I cannot read them.
If you could please take some closeup pictures of the tang stamp and blade stamp, I believe that it will help in identifying.
Welcome to AAPK!

Reverand, if you scroll up a ways there are clear pictures. Plus made duplicate posts, with pictures, in several different forums here already. He got a reply to the post in the switchblade collectors forum. The folks there recognized it and provided info about it. viewtopic.php?t=83853

Welcome to AAPK, looking forward to see what else you have. There’s no need to make multiple posts. You can help yourself find the right place by browsing through the available forums by going to the “forum” home page https://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/knife_forum/. You can also access it by clicking on Forums in the header at the top of any page. Take a minute to click on various items in the header and become familiar with all that’s here, especially the Research section (also in that same header at the top).nexgen77 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 05, 2025 2:07 pm Thank you for the info, every piece of it much appreciated, as Im newbie in the matter of knives.
