400th Columbus Anniversary Pocket Knife

Hello!

This knife must have originated at the World's Columbian Exposition held in Chicago in 1893, to celebrate the 400th anniversary of Christopher Columbus's arrival in the New World in 1492. It hadn't been opened in 50 years. Initially, I failed to discern the logo. However, upon magnifying the image, the Henckel individual became apparent.

It was likely purchased by my Great Grandfather. He came to America in the mid 1800's from Lower Saxony (Ostfriesland). He and many other Frieslanders relocated to Ogle County Illinois. They would drive their wagon teams to Chicago with crops and return with hard goods.

If anyone has additional or alternative knowledge I would greatly appreciate it. I am equally curious about its value, but not for commercial purposes

Everything I wrote in 2009 in the referenced topic link above applies to your knife, except yours has brass handles, instead of aluminum, which in 1893 would have been considered a premium handle material.

Your knife is like the one my doctor friend in Missouri owns.

So, I have seen three of them now.

Although l do not have a Columbus knife from the exposition, l do have a couple items from there. Apparently Henckels must have been actively involved as l have a pair of scissors with Columbus' image on one side, one of his ships on the other, stamped GRAEF & SCHMIDT on one side and J.A.HENCKELS on the other
I also have a ring(white and yellow gold) with a carved image of Columbus in some type of stone..
