Hahaha! I have had the same experience, David, sometimes they just seem to appear with no warning. Good pics!

Ike any idea on how many coal cars.
Thought I counted 135 one time.
The BNSF and UP trains that I checked were between 120 and 130, usually 3 locos.

Recently, we had a new hobby shop open up. I noticed that they sell almost all the major brands--I'm thinking about finally dusting off some old locomotives with minor problems I've got laying about. I have a Lionel O-27 Scout that just needs going over (plus a second larger locomotive I'm buying cheap soon), a Marklin DRG-89 (missing pickup shoe and has some drivetrain issues caused by carpet fibers and dog hair due to careless prior owner), and a Marklin Henschel (a weird two axle, 2WD variant used in budget sets in the '60s--runs great, needs traction tires and a headlight rewire).

Even if they don't do service, I can still order the necessary parts to fix those hot messes (as well as to stock up on wear parts and hardware). A lot cheaper than buying second locomotives to cannibalize.

So, guess when I go in January, I'll box up my busted Marklin and Lionel locomotives and see if I can get things back on track. Also, I stripped a screw doing maintenance on my Axial SCX-24 Chevy, so looks like some replacements for that are in order. I hope they also sell 1:87 vehicles as well.

Thanks, David, that orange BNSF loco brightened up what was an otherwise gloomy Winter's day.

I think it might be IC 3320, Ike. My brother took this picture in the Cumberland yards a few months ago.
